ABOUT
The (Un)doing Masculinities Summit 2024 (#UMS 2024) is an international gathering that seeks to address evolving, critical discussions around masculinity.
Amid ongoing concerns for online misogynist movements, and increased attacks on gender studies, this summit will bring together scholars, activists, and practitioners to engage in a forward-thinking dialogue on how masculinities can be reimagined to promote gender equity, mental health, and violence prevention.
This summit will provide a space for collaboration and research exchange, with a particular emphasis on the intersection of masculinity with issues such as gender-based violence, LGBTQ+ rights, Indigenous masculinities, and allyship. It aims to initiate international research networks and collaborations that will further mobilize critical research on masculinities, informed by diverse perspectives from Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ireland, and Brazil.
