Chris Haywood

Chris Haywood brings to the summit a wealth of experience of working with masculinity. He has been involved in the researching of masculinities in the context of schools, disability, 'Race'/ethnicity, unemployment and sexuality. His work has a particular focus on looking at the absences, the contradictions and the inconsistencies that can be found in theories of masculinity. He is currently the joint editor of the Journal of Boyhood Studies and the Journal of Bodies, Masculinities and Sexualities. He has conducted research on masculinities in a number of contexts that include sub-Saharan Africa, Thailand and the UK. He is currently working on developing research men, masculinity and sexual well-being in the context of swinger clubs and Gay saunas.
